CHOLESTINON is a new dietary supplement developed to enable those people whose cholesterol level does not currently pose a risk for cardiovascular problems, but whose cholesterol is at the high end of the normal range. (between 5 to 6 mg/dL), maintain normal & healthy cholesterol levels.

CHOLESTINON is an all-natural form of Monacus Purpuereus Red Went yeast that is fermented on premium rice and prepared by a proprietary process to guarantee the quality and consistency of the product. CHOLESTINON has been rigorously evaluated in terms of its pharmacology, long-term toxicity & in clinical studies to confirm its safety and efficacy.

Each batch of CHOLESTINON is processed to contain 0.4 percent naturally occurring HMGCoA reductase inhibitors, of which Monacolin K and its biologically active hydroxyl-acid are the most abundant. These inhibitors lower serum cholesterol level by blocking the action of the rate-limiting enzyme in the cholesterol biosynthetic pathway. In addition, CHOLETINON contains unsaturated fatty acids which have been suggested to reduce serum triglyceride levels but increase the level of "good" HDL-cholesterol.

The efficacy of the proprietary ingredient in CHOLESTINON was first demonstrated in a six month side by side comparison study with other statin drugs in the spontaneous hyperlipidemic rabbit model. The safety of CHOLESTINON was demonstrated in acute and long term animal toxicity studies in which there were no adverse reactions of CHOLESTINON doses up to 50 times the normal human dose over a treatment period of 3 to 4 months

A total of 17 clinical trials have been carried out to assess the clinical efficacy of the natural ingredient in CHOLESTINON. Eight (8) of these studies were controlled, nine (9) were open label. In these studies of 872 patients with moderate of severe hyperlipidemia included CHOLESTINON in their diet at doses from 0.6 to 2.4 gm/day for 8 weeks. This therapy was found to reduce total serum cholesterol by between 28 and 68 mg/dL, representing a percentage reduction of 11.2 to 32 %.

In addition, using CHOLESTINON significantly reduced serum triglyceride levels by an average of 17-23%, decreased LDL-cholesterol levels by an average of 12-19%, and increased HDL-Cholesterol levels by an average of 7-14%. Collectively, these studies demonstrated that CHOLESTINON in combination with a healthy diet and moderate exercise is safe and effective to use by concerned individuals and those with cholesterol levels within the high normal range who do not require prescribed medications and wish to lower their serum cholesterol levels.
